Other quick stuff to know about Paul: He’s an avid runner, having completed more than a dozen marathons, including Boston twice. He’s an honored alumnus of CSU Sacramento. In recent years he’s authored two novels (still in search of an enthusiastic publisher).
Paul and his wife, Bridget, live in Granite Bay and recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. They have three lovely daughters, one handsome son-in-law, and two beautiful grandsons.
His fame grew throughout his teenage years, marked by national appearances on radio and television and triumphs at several musical competitions. In 1971, his expanding reputation as a uniquely talented musician blossomed when he was chosen to join a weekly musical television show, "Gente Joven" ("Young People"), which aired in Ecuador. After more than two years with the show, he went on to join a Colombian Latin jazz/salsa group as lead singer and guitarist, performing for a chain of international hotel-casinos throughout South America.
In 1975, at the age of 22, Najera moved to California to further his career. Thanks to a combination of talent, tenacity, and providence, opportunities in the music industry were abundant. He began performing and later recording his original compositions, and simultaneously earned a degree in digital electronics with emphasis in television.
Najera's music has been described as exhilarating and contagious; exciting and explosive; emotional and sensual. His influences are rich in cultural diversity, inspired by styles that include traditional Spanish and Flamenco, Brazilian, Tropicalia, Andean, jazz, and contemporary. He complements these with an underlying hint of classical seasoning, which he believes lies at the heart of any truly good composition.
The majority of the music he plays is original, but he just might surprise audiences with an Ecuadorian-infused cover of "Autumn Leaves." In addition to his solo performances, he has shared the stage with stellar performers that include Jose Feliciano, Julio Iglesias, and Enrique Coria.
The Nibblers is a 7 piece rocking soul funk explosion, inciting a dance floor melee throughout Northern California, with a riotous update on vintage soup and R&B. With a combination of funky New Orleans inspired horns, soulful vocals, and hard hitting pockets, the band is rapidly gaining a reputation as the go to fix for hardcore groove junkies.

Now, the B Street is at the brink of creating one of the most exciting civic amenities in the region – the new B Street Theatre Performing Arts Complex in the heart of Midtown (27th and Capitol).
A man named Harlan Howard, who all you country fans have heard of, once said, “Country music is three chords and the truth.”
Well for The Chris Gardner Band, that’s exactly what inspires their popular country--rock lyrics. Real life and the truth.
Five incredible musicians whose talents excel alone but thrive together are taking huge steps towards flourishing careers in music. Opening up for major
Country artists such as Chris Young, Luke Bryan, Love and Theft, and Sarah Buxton, has been very rewarding for the band. They amazed the fans at the (name or year) Professional Bull Riders show in (city), competed in the Colgate Country Showdown all the way to state championships in Nevada, and entertained 10,000 people at the 2010 Monster Truck Show at Arco Arena in Sacramento.
The energy coming off the stage when The Chris Gardner Band performs is phenomenal. “They [the fans] know us for our show,” says Gardner, who admires the talent of Third Day, Zac Brown Band, and Keith Urban. “We are a humble band and we truly love what we do. We always give one hundred and fifty percent, whether we’re performing for two people or a crowd of 10,000.”
Supporting local communities is very important to the band members and they continue to help with Relay for Life, Make a Wish Foundation, and Toys for Tots. “We try to do a benefit anytime anyone is in need,” says Gardner.
